There was a time when I really wanted to try for Fedora Project Leader. Why? Well I had a whole bunch of good reasons then, but to be honest it probably was just thinking "wow that is the coolest job ever."
Now though, I know I wouldn't be the right person for the job. However, there are a lot of good people out there who would be.
- Be friendly
- Be open minded
- Be able to handle criticism
- Realize that most of the problems between people are miscommunication, mistakes versus misconduct.
- Be able to handle and help large amounts of people.
- Be able to get out of the way when you need to

There's no doubt the FPL job isn't for everyone. There are always needs that have to be balanced between being an employee of a publicly-traded company and the lead for a free community project. The hardest part of the job is realizing there are times you can't make 100% of your stakeholders happy, and so the objective is to make sure people are at least not surprised.
